Expecting After Loss is a support group through Empty Arms for families and individuals who are pregnant or trying to conceive after pregnancy, infant, or child loss.
This space recognizes the emotional complexity of expecting after loss. For many, this journey is not only filled with hope, but also with fear, anxiety, and deep vulnerability. It can be a time of constant wondering, heightened awareness, and holding your breath through each stage of pregnancy or the waiting that comes before it.
Whether you are actively trying to conceive, navigating fertility challenges, newly pregnant, or further along in your pregnancy, this group is here to support you through the uncertainty and the hope that often exist side by side.
We acknowledge that this experience is different from other pregnancies. It is shaped by what has been lost, and that loss is not something you have to set aside in order to move forward. In this space, your grief and your hope are both welcome. Nothing needs to be minimized, explained, or carried alone.
Through connection with others who understand this unique journey, this group offers a place to feel less isolated, more understood, and gently supported as you navigate pregnancy and trying to conceive after loss — exactly as you are.
