Together Tweens (Ages 11–14)

Together Tweens is a therapist-led creative grief group designed for youth ages 11–14 who have experienced the loss of a baby brother or sister during pregnancy, infancy, or childhood. During the tween years, young people are developing a stronger sense of identity, navigating changing friendships, and learning new ways to understand themselves and the world around them. Grief often evolves alongside these changes, bringing new questions, emotions, and challenges.

This group offers a safe, welcoming space where tweens can connect with peers who share similar experiences, explore their grief through meaningful conversation and creative expression, and build healthy coping strategies that grow with them. Each one-hour session focuses on a different topic, including understanding grief, managing emotions, family relationships, honouring a sibling, self-care, resilience, and moving forward while continuing to carry their sibling's memory.

Sessions are interactive and thoughtfully designed to encourage reflection, discussion, creativity, and connection in a way that respects the growing independence of this age group. While attending the full series provides the greatest opportunity for relationship-building and personal growth, each session is also designed to stand alone, allowing families to register for individual sessions or the complete program.

Youth attend this group independently, creating a space where they can build confidence, share openly, and develop supportive peer connections. Parents are welcome to remain onsite in our family space or return at the end of the session.

Our hope is that every tween leaves feeling understood, supported, and empowered to navigate their grief in their own way—knowing they don't have to do it alone and that their sibling's memory will always have a place in their story.
