Beading, Bannock, and Belonging: A Community Circle for Connection and Cultural Learning

  • Empty Arms Perinatal Loss Support 262 Avenue B South Unit 206 Saskatoon Canada (map)

Beading, Bannock, and Belonging: Forget-Me-Not

Join us for another gathering of Beading, Bannock & Belonging, our monthly community circle at Empty Arms created to bring people together through cultural learning, creativity, conversation, and connection.

For this gathering, participants will create a beautiful beaded forget-me-not floral pin. With guidance from facilitators and an Elder, we’ll gather around the table to learn together, share bannock and tea, hear cultural teachings, and spend time in community.

The forget-me-not is a small flower with a meaningful message — one of remembrance, enduring connection, and carrying those who matter to us close. While this gathering is not a grief-specific program, the project offers space for each participant to bring their own meaning to what they create.

Beading, Bannock & Belonging is a warm and respectful space for storytelling, shared learning, cultural connection and reconnection, and relationship-building within our Riversdale community.

First Nations, Métis, and non-Indigenous community members are all welcome. You do not need to have a previous connection to Empty Arms or experience with pregnancy, infant, or child loss to participate.

No previous beading experience is necessary, and all supplies and refreshments are provided free of charge.

This workshop is intended for ages 15+.
