Beading, Bannock, and Belonging: Every Child Matters Orange T-shirt Pin
Join us for the first gathering of Beading, Bannock & Belonging, a new monthly community circle at Empty Arms created to bring people together through cultural learning, creativity, conversation, and connection.
For our first project, participants will create a beaded Every Child Matters orange T-shirt pin. With guidance from facilitators and an Elder, we’ll gather around the table to learn together, share bannock and tea, hear cultural teachings, and spend time in community.
Beading, Bannock & Belonging is about more than completing a project. These gatherings are intended to create a warm and respectful space for storytelling, shared learning, cultural connection and reconnection, and relationship-building within our Riversdale community.
First Nations, Métis, and non-Indigenous community members are all welcome. You do not need to have a previous connection to Empty Arms or experience with pregnancy, infant, or child loss to participate.
No previous beading experience is necessary, and all supplies and refreshments are provided free of charge.
This workshop is intended for ages 15+.
